Working Freelance makeup artist Cara J. Maccianti has designed these two day workshops to help all artists get started as a WORKING freelance makeup/hair artist. Learn the ins and outs of the industry, like where to start, whom to market to and what you'll need to grow your business. Learn the tricks and tips to this very demanding career... walk out with a plan and a fresh take on your future!
Workshop days are broken down by two days, pick just one day or pick both and start your career now! Already a working makeup artist or hair artist? Never fear.... there is plenty for you to learn as well! Get the honest truth about the industry and what you need to take the next step in your career. Lunch and snacks are provided both days and included in the cost!
Day 1 – Makeup/Hair Freelance Artist Workshop
This 1 day intensive workshop is what you need to know about the industry, from start to finish. How to choose which make up road to take. Do you want to do salon makeup? Bridal? SFX? Fashion? TV? Film? Hair? Topics will include marketing, website development, how to choose your pictures, how to build your portfolio, where to find work, what to include in your kit, agency, set etiquette, how to assist. This "classroom" style workshop gives you all the tricks and secrets and lets you ask questions... any question!! Get the honest truth about this industry and what you need to know to make it to the top.
Needed for workshop: Just you and your questions. Feel free to bring your portfolio, or images that you have so far, and Cara will look them over at the end of the day and give you her opinion and suggestions!
Day 2 - High Def Makeup Workshop and Photoshoot
This day 2, hands on workshop, will teach you how to do high def makeup on Men and Women. High def makeup is the basis for ALL makeup and I'll teach you the skills you need to be the best in your field! Learn about what products to use, lighting, skin types, and actual makeup application. We start out with a lecture and demo and then it’s your turn to work it out! I'll be there with you every step of the way and when your done Professional Photographer Jenna Dosch will shoot your model and you will get two high resolution images emailed to you (one of your male model and one of your female model). Boom! Your portfolio is started!
Needed for workshop: Makeup kit (anything, bring what you have) Makeup Chair if you have one. You will need 1 male model from 10AM -12:30PM and 1 female model from 3-5:30PM. If you are having trouble finding a model, email us and we will try and assist in locating models. Remember this is high def so it can be any aged woman or man, and they will each receive one head shot high res image emailed to them as well.
