The Vision Community Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 community-based organization in Atlanta, GA. Since 2007, The Vision Community foundation has fed, clothed, educated, mentored and provided HIV Testing and prevention services for over 4000 women, men and children in the greater Atlanta area. VCF was founded to reach ALL in the community, in particular, those under-served and on the margins.

About Us

Through the leadership of our founder/CEO, OC Allen and Deputy Director, Avian Watson, The Vision Community Foundation has changed and transformed greater Atlanta and abroad. Through various national and local partnerships, HIV/AIDS, Women's health, poverty, children and youth awareness has increased.

Vision: Our Vision is to impact and transform our community through outreach, awareness and prevention.

Mission:  Our Mission is to empower people mentally, emotionally, educationally, socially and economically. As a community based organization, we are inclusive of ALL people, fully embracing people of every race, gender, culture, sexual orientation, family configuration, physical and or mental condition, and all other distinctions which are the rich tapestry of the human family.

Programs and Support Services

We currently offer programs and services to under-served families and individuals in the Atlanta area. We have manifested doctors, nurses, certified counselors, certified trainers, social workers and group facilitators all of which are committed to serve those most in need and without access to resources and care. It is our belief that with such a vast array of leadership we are not only equipped to implement effective initiatives and programs, but are also able to provide education and prevention support services to any in need.  As a community foundation, we focus on four programs:

*Bread of Life: Feed the Homeless Program*   The Bread of Life Program is an outreach program designed for the purpose of assisting local homeless shelters by preparing over 250 weekly meals in an effort to identify and provide support, care and food to families and individuals both affected by homelessness. In addition to our weekly feeding program, we provide free HIV testing and prevention services to those weekly served. As a part of our HIV services, we provide supportive care or counseling, peer counseling, group support and bereavement counseling, health advocacy and education and transitional services. The Bread of Life team provides weekly support to the homeless within the Atlanta community. Since 2007, we have fed over 2000 families and individuals, addressing hunger within our homeless population and increasing HIV/AIDS awareness, education and knowledge of status.

*GED Education and Career Program* The Vision Community Foundation provides adequate certified trainers and counselors that provide, coordinate and facilitate educational forums, group facilitation and monthly community awareness programs for the entire community. We provide specific GED classes the lead into career development with a comprehensive job referral program.  Our GED students graduate from our program once they have completed a full year in a higher learning institution (College, Cosmetology School, and University)

*Women's Health* VCF has been in the forefront of addressing Women's Health, specifically Breast Cancer awareness. For 4 years, VCF has annually participated in the Atlanta Breast Cancer walk raising thousands of dollars for awareness. Additionally, for 3 years, VCF has its annual Pretty in Pink event, bringing local and national artists in concert to raise funds for Breast Cancer education and research.

YOUTH INITIATIVES: Community Youth Program* Our Youth program, "Vision Tops", endeavors to reach our youth using innovative methods and techniques to assist in moving youth toward healthy and successful Adult lifestyles. Through our Youth program we offer mentoring, after school tutoring, outdoor activities and scholarships. We host an annual back to school drive and toys for tots yearly giving away hundreds of book bags filled with school supplies to children who would not have the necessary supplies to achieve greatness at their school.  Toys collected during the annual Toys for Tots drive are given to less fortunate children in Atlanta's community and the Nicholas House Transitional Homeless Shelter

*HIV/AIDS Awareness and Prevention Program *Our HIV/AIDS program and Health Initiative is designed to stem the tide of HIV infection and raise community awareness. Our participation in the National HIV Testing Day Skills Building Institute governed by NAPWA, provides our leaders with effective tools for those being tested for HIV. We administer rapid results HIV testing monthly ensuring those tested with awareness of their status.   Our Monthly support groups provide a safe space for those impacted and/or infected with HIV/AIDS.  Topic discussions and round table discussions provide an open format for honest communication in our group discussions of HIV/AIDS while living a healthy impacting life.

*VCF Community Festival Collaboration * The Vision Community Foundation collaborates with various CBO's to coordinate community programs that allow for HIV/AIDS, Women's Health, homelessness and youth education awareness.  During Atlanta Labor Day Pride Weekend we host a festival that showcases all of our services.  Vendors, music, and community activism formats our program during the community festival.

So, Please Stay Tuned...

Because " The BEST IS YET, TO COME!! " **
