Queen is a British rock band formed in London in 1971, originally consisting of Freddie Mercury, Brian May, John Deacon and Roger Taylor. Their earliest works were influenced by progressive rock, but the band gradually incorporated more diverse and innovative styles into their music. Drawing artistic influence from many other British rock acts from the same time, such as the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Who, Black Sabbath, Slade, Deep Purple and David Bowie, Queen composed music that drew inspiration from many different genres of music with a tongue in cheek attitude. They have been associated with progressive rock, glam rock, hard rock, heavy metal, pop rock, psychedelic rock, blues rock and dance/disco. They have been cited as a major influence on neo-classical metal and helped spur the heavy metal genre’s evolution by discarding much of its blues influence.
The Franklin School of Rock is excited to be playing the music of one of their favorite bands. The school can’t wait to show the crowds what they can do on songs like “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Killer Queen”, “Bicycle” and of course, “We Are the Champions” and “We Will Rock You”.
Make no mistake, they may be kids, but they are true musicians! Get ready to ROCK!
