A PLAY ADAPTATION OF ROSTAND’S CYRANO DE BERGERAC WITH A TWIST FOR THE YOUNG AND THE YOUNG-AT-HEART
Cyrano might be called a condensed adaptation of Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac with a twist. In this version for young audiences, stressed themes include not judging by appearances, learning to accept yourself as you are, the absurdity of war, love and honor, friendship and devotion, and the beauty and effect of language. In this version, all the actors have very long noses, which are considered normal, and Cyrano’s comparatively short nose is considered unattractive and undermines his confidence.
