Event Description:
Rule, Britannia! shall be a celebration of British music (inspired by the idea of the Last Night of the Proms) with the Maria Mater Gratiae Philharmonic performing a variety of well-known music synonymous with Britain, ranging from classical to contemporary such as the military march Colonel Bogey, Purcell’s Trumpet Voluntary from the Baroque era, Nimrod from Enigma Variations, Jupiter from The Planets of Gustav Holst, the legendary You’ll Never Walk Alone, Spice Girls’s 90s hit Stop, medleys from the immortal bands The Beatles and Pink Floyd, Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, Adele’s Skyfall, and Elton John’s Candle in the Wind.
The concert will come to an end majestically with Rule, Britannia!, Land of Hope and Glory and the National Anthem God Save the Queen.
The band will be under the baton of bandmaster Kevin Mizzi B.Sc. (Hons.), M.Sc., LLCM.
