Event Description:
GPSS is proud to welcome back an event many of you have been clamoring for: RANDOM DINNERS. In their previous incarnation, we provided the wine and you provided a potluck, all in the hopes of meeting new people and making new friends. We understood that opening up your apartment or cooking on a weeknight was a lot of work! So we've come up with a new idea:
We'll be hosting a random dinner at the very awesome Miya's sushi. Here's how it works: You buy a ticket and get a sushi buffet dinner with 90 other interesting and interested Yalies. We track your school year and affiliation and set up a seating arrangement to maximize the diversity at each table. Halfway through we'll switch you up again to double who you get to meet. Its an awesome way to meet new people who are as cool and passionate about their field of study as you, all over an amazing spread of food from an award-winning chef (http://miyassushi.com/).
The Details: Monday April 1st, 8pm. $30 per person. This event is open to all Yale G&Ps, their friends/family/partners/etc. You are encouraged to come with friends, but be warned, you will be randomly split up for seating at dinner, that's the whole point! Your ticket includes a full sushi (both vegetarian and fish; all sustainable) buffet, beer/wine/sake, and other ammenaties all at one of the best and most inventive restruants in New Haven. You can get a refund minus any credit card fees by emailing gpsseventmaster@gmail.com more than 1 week before the start of the event. Because this will probably sell out quickly, we cannot offer a refund on such short notice, less than 1 week before the event.
It will be a great time, full of meeting new and interesting people, all while enjoying some amazing food. Both Bun Lai (the owner of Miyas) and the GPSS are heavily subsidizing what will surely be a feast, to allow great food to bring together great people.
